Jazz in a Modernist Setting with Cellist Kye Marshall

February 25, 2018 | 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm |

Acclaimed Canadian jazz cellist Kye Marshall will perform an afternoon of jazz in a historic modernist setting to benefit Temple Isaiah. An eclectic musician, Ms. Marshall has composed and performed in nearly every musical genre, including modern jazz, dance, theatre, classical, opera, and radio drama. The latest of her six CDs, Pencil Blues, was nominated for Best Jazz CD of the Year by TIMA.

In 2016 and 2017 alone, eight of her newest compositions have been premiered by organizations as prominent as “I Solisti Veniti” of Venice, Italy, one of the world’s leading string orchestras.

The performance will take place in the historic 1950s E. Stewart Williams modernist designed Liberman Chapel of Temple Isaiah, and will benefit the Temple’s sustainability fund.

Ms. Marshall will be accompanied by Peter Curtis on acoustic guitar.

Timeline: The performance will be from 3:00-4:30 p.m. followed by a reception and meet-and-greet with the performers with hosted wine and hors d’oeuvres.
