Palm Springs Walk of Stars Dedication for Nelda Linsk: Humanitarian, “Poolside Gossip”
February 22, 2018 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm |
Please join Modernism Week in a very special dedication ceremony on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars for Nelda Linsk, respected Humanitarian and Palm Springs good-will Ambassador. A Palm Springs resident for 50 plus years Nelda has contributed to the enhancement of the cultural lifestyle of Palm Springs most notably through her friendship with the society photographer Slim Aarons. In February 1970, Nelda hosted a group of Palm Springs’ notable citizens at her home, the Richard Neutra designed Kaufmann House for what would become one of the world’s most recognized photographs: Poolside Gossip. Slim Aarons captured a long lasting image of the Palm Springs Lifestyle that remains a widely respected photograph and the subsequent photos from that day’s photo shoot are synonymous with Palm Springs; highlighting architecture, fashion, furniture and glamour all in a single photograph. Among those participating in the photo shoot were industrial designer Raymond Loewy, the actress Lita Baron, interior designer Steve Chase and sitting opposite Nelda in the most recognized photograph is the indomitable style maven Helen Dzo Dzo.
Nelda is a two-time Athena Award honoree for entrepreneurial business woman and was recently honored with a Broken Glass Humanitarian Award. Nelda is a Board Member and Founding Member of the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, Board Member of Act for Multiple Sclerosis and is a past board member of the Palm Springs Film Festival.
Nelda has been a local real estate professional for 35 years specializing in estate luxury properties and was a co-owner of Coldwell Banker Eadie Adams Realty.
